|BIEDERMEIER SUITE SO274|
Highly comfortable original Biedermeier, suite from the 1820's, exemplary for the Viennese Biedermeier barrel-back design from the 1820's. Walnut standing root-head with exceptional grain configuration veneered on pine wood.
Shellac-based French re-polished. Padded seat, back and sides.
Eighty years after the original Biedermeier beginning of the 20th century, Biedermeier came in fashion again, and the original designs from the 1820's were copied, now most preferred the typical designs like barrel-backs.
This movement is called Revival Biedermeier, and every home used to have one room furnished with Biedermeier furniture, with copies not originals.
Only an expert can discover what is real and what is fake.
For many years, i.e. in Hungary, Poland, Italy copies of original Biedermeier furniture are produced by using old methods of constructions, old woods, old tools and even veneers from damaged original furniture.
Only an expert is able to state if the veneers originally belonged to another furniture.
