A single Southwest German Biedermeier chair, exemplary for this type of chair (often called "shovel-chairs") with a shovel-shape shoulder board. Waisted seat back, vase-shaped stretcher, padded seats with horse hair cover, constructed with ash wood. Southwest Germany, circa 1820/25.
